This is the time when the lakes are covered with ice and the landscape becomes truly magical. March brings the first signs of spring, although it can still be chilly. Thermometers show 0 to 5°C, and nights can still be frosty. In April, the weather can be unpredictable and somewhat capricious. There are passing showers, and temperatures range from 4 to 10°C. May is a significantly warmer month, with temperatures ranging from 9 to 16°C. Nature is in full bloom and the days are getting longer. June marks the beginning of the summer season. Temperatures range from 13 to 20°C, and the long days are conducive to outdoor activities. The warmest month in Masuria is undoubtedly July. You will see temperatures ranging from 15 to 27°C on the thermometers. August is equally pleasant, although the evenings can be a bit cooler. Temperatures usually range from 14 to 23°C, and the weather is ideal for sailing and swimming in the lakes. In September, you can feel the breath of autumn. It is cooler, from 10 to 16°C, and the leaves change colour from green to gold and red. In October, you should not expect the thermometers to show more than 11°C. Darkness falls much earlier, and fog is a frequent occurrence. November is the time of the first frosts and rainfall, with temperatures ranging from 2 to 6°C. Real winter begins in December. The mercury drops to between -2 and 2°C, but the festive atmosphere and snow encourage outdoor activities.

The warmest and coldest months – when is the best time to visit Masuria?

In June, July and August, Masuria is bustling with life. It is the perfect time for sailing, swimming in lakes, cycling trips and picnics in the countryside. The days are long and the evenings are warm. So you can enjoy outdoor activities almost until late at night. In winter, this part of Poland shows a completely different face. It is quiet and atmospheric. Frozen lakes and snow make the area look like a fairy tale.
